Disco Ball Decorating

Man I'm kind of sad I missed the 70's sometimes. Not the AM-Gold-on-the-radio, Rust-Brown-appliances-in-your-kitchen 70's. No, I'm talking about the kick-ass, Studio-54, partyin'-with-Andy-Warhol, white-plastic-Panton-furniture 70's. You know, the one that had disco balls.

I loves me a good vintage disco ball. I struggle to not buy every one I come across moldering in a sad little flea market booth. But my wife however, is not so enamored of disco balls all over the house. Something about being afraid our friends would think that we run a swingers club on the side. Yeah, I don't get it either. Disco Balls in the house are awesome. Plain and simple. They add tons of personality and fun: The perfect playful counterpoint to an otherwise serious space. Whenever I see one, I instantly know that this designer/homeowner doesn't take themselves too seriously and has a sense of humor.

Here's some of the best interiors I could dig up that recognize the genius design element that is... The Disco Ball.

  1. I think you've got tons to brag concerning! and that i would not worry about being "overly boastful" as a result of you are tooting your own horn! i prefer to listen to the great stuff that folks do. It's far better than hearing the long list of crap and ailments they're experiencing over ... and over ... and once again. Hearing dangerous stuff all the time is simply not smart.
